I Am Me

Truth is I wanted to love you,
But in the back of my mind I felt the urgency knowing you would walk away.
It felt easier for me to say good bye.
It seemed easier that way.
It scared me when I thought you might stay.
For I was familiar loving through pain,--
one sided,
But being loved back would have drove me insane.
Thy pressure of communication was terrifying since the sixth grade.
For you weren't thy one and thy one I know is none, but with you I was no one, so I guess,
         With you I'm none and alone,
                   I feel I am someone.
